It is the 24th day of January and of course the 24th day in the year 2014, coincidentally it is exactly one month to my birthday, I just can't wait to celebrate with God, family, maybe my girlfriend, old school mates and friends .. Wow, how time flies, just yesterday I screamed "HAPPY NEW YEAR", and now we are almost saying goodbyes to January, Well Life continues as Hope remains Alive... Today on our #31Days31Reflections, we will be hosting my brother from another mother.
My Life indeed has be filled with great men baring he name "Chukwuemeka", let me elucidate further; Firstly, my baby brother, the last born of my family bares the name Chukwuemeka; My besty of life, the first dude ever to rock my world is Chukwuemeka (JR- we read his reflections on day 15); then as I kicked off with my Undergraduate degree, in my second year, I met another superb brother, his name also is Chukwuemeka (we shall be sharing his reflections via 2013 today); finally during my NYSC, my room mate for 10months, who I never knew from Adam but met for the first time in camp, and some how we were in the same platoon, then found ourselves in the same Local government and finally found each other again at the same Place of Primary Assignment(PPA), his name too is Chukwuemeka; so you see that indeed my Life is filled with God's greatness, Each of these "Chukwuemekas" positively added real values to my world, the best part is that they are all alive, with big dreams, visions and aspirations; Each of them even promised to attend my wedding in 2020, you can safe the date too sha, lols.
Today, Ladies and gents, we shall be reading the reflections of my brother, my in-law(come Emeka, we need to discuss this inlaw part wela o, so that 2020 go sure,*winks*); not that he is marrying my sister sha, it is the other way round o, "na me dey eye him sister gan",lols. Anyway, Emeka, aka, Cruiser, is a first class student of Microbiology, who served as a Senator in Babcock University Students' association, also he was the General Secretary of Biosciences and Biotechnology students' association, he also functioned in other superb activities in school and is a good christian. He served in Enugu state, I met him sometime last year November and am going to meet him via this weekend too, as I intend to pay a visit to my Uncle in Ibadan, who is billed to celebrate his Child dedication on Saturday. Emeka is presently working in Ibadan, and last time I checked, he was single, lols, so if you need a "Loving loving" kind of guy, Chukwuemeka Azumah is you final bus stop. Okay, enjoy his reflections via 2013 below...
I am KALU CHUKWUEMEKA AZUMAH, a RESEARCH SCIENTIST, MALE, and from the IGBO tribe.
Well, I am thankful to God for a lot of things. I will probably start with the fact that My year started as a new white fowl (Otondo) who barely left camp for home on Christmas day and after the celebrations I just came to settle at my PPA in UNN, not knowing the terrain so well. I must tell you, it was stressful because I had a lot of market purchases to do and adjusting to working with old people in the office (it was "gam gam": action movie). Behold February and march rushed in with a lot memories and "Gobe" from bike men around the school vicinity and a friend. The bike-men kept on charging us a lot for little distances covered.
I stamped my feet greatly in Nsukka land by April as I had a lot of male and female friends by then that I can not forget their contributions. The year rolled into June, with a lot of reading and writing challenges. This is another reason am thankful to God. I successfully wrote the exams I had with good health after lengthy nights without sleep (things wey I no do for BU). God you are too much abeg. As the Lord would have it, in june I was made the president of the Association of Corpers serving in UNN against all odds. It was a big surprise to be handed over such mantle of leadership. I had to lead the strong, weak, parrots, wrestlers, old people (awo arugbo), and many more. It was challenging, but "Chineke"(God) directed me.
Behold July came racing into my birthday in earnest. On this day I was filled with happiness because my lodge mates helped organise a wonderful birthday party that had never been hosted in the lodge before. It was filled with a lot of Joy and celebration. Some mates had to dance "Skelewu" inside the gutters self,(that day my eyes saw things o).
My people, Before I could realise what had happened, it was end of my service year, on the 10th october 2013, I happily bowed out of the scheme with an atmosphere of celebration, indeed, I bowed out with great achievements.
Slowly, November came, I narrowly escaped the serial gunshots from armed robbers on the vehicle I was travelling with to Lagos. You can imagine, just like what we see on home videos. But my God took control. In that same month I reconnected with a friend that is dear to my heart and my family, (Prince Nwachukwu). The bush man came to Umuahia, Abia state, to see me in my humble aboard. It was great fun with him although he left when not expected jareee.....you should know Prince(TatafoEfon), Mmmtchwewwww.(Brotherly, no vex biko, I had to attend to Pman, as initially promised we go see for Ibadan Today,*smiles*,#TatafoEfon's comment)
Suddenly December came with the news of my grand mother's death, which I didn't question God because it was a directed death. God has already consoled the family with the woman's health, long stay, prayers, and happy moments with children, grand and great grand children. She is to be celebrated on the 8th of February 2014 because she stayed more than a century.
Finally I am thankful to God for a successful service year, good connection to better things and for God's guidance in my life and that of my family. His favours and protection throughout the year has been outstanding.
In 2013, I learnt that some friends are closer than families, and that you need to take a strong limp to embrace better things and to step up in life. I wouldn't lie to you, I learnt how to live like a family man.
Owwwh...I learnt how to caution my self on the effects experienced when loved ones disappoint, I guess I am now experienced on "such shit". I can't forget understanding that trust and love are to be earned and not thrown out.
In 2014, I need to improve on my relationships, to attain greater and lofty heights in my life endeavours and to improve on my educational background. For my relationship with the opposite sex, humm!!, it will take a Princess charming to win the stronghold of my heart back. Because "niggas" ain't smiling again.
Finally I hope to improve on my relationship with the Most high because He has done so much for my life. Even amidst my sin, he pardons and still gives Grace. "Oluwa osheeee gan nii"..."Chineke i melaaaa oooo", "Allah, sa nu" (Thank you Lord)... I salute you all for going through my reflection, I pray that God will grant us the success this year and the grace to be able to share each other's reflections come 2015.....amen.
