Day 23- 2013 shared to us as a storyline...Popoola Damilola

#31Days31Reflections, its the 23rd day of our dynamic project and I am pleased to read mails and chats encouraging me and making me zest to do more projects like this. A great fan even prayed for me, in his words, "You are doing a great Job man, indeed you are a good leader, maybe next year, you will organize 365days of reflections", and I gave a resounding "Amen" to that. Thanks again for the prayers, support, the beef, the critics, the patience and above all the Love... May we continually have course to Praise God, and it is important that we do so even more often. Quickly, let me announce that we have a fan page now on Facebook, it is www.facebook.com/nysctatafo or you follow this link- https://m.facebook.com/nysctatafo?_rdr

Today's reflector is an accountant by profession, she attended Babcock university and graduated a set before me, her name is Damilola Popoola, akan Dammy. We grew up together, have the same spiritual background and a wonderful wife material (emmm...to the guy dating her now, mehn, she is indeed the conclusion of the whole matter, don't let her go o). Okay, am not going to bore us we so much, because am not even feeling too fine,(all this early morning waking, plus short night rest, no be beans, but I bless God for life, please continue to put me in prayer....I need God's strength...Amen), Please enjoy her cool reflections below, she is a good writer too..*smiles*.....

I am Damilola Popoola, a yoruba Lady from Kwara state, here is my little article as I reflect on year 2013...Thank you in advance for taking your time to read through, may God bless you all...

I remember the 31st of 2012, it was a lovely morning that dawned brightly and purpose filled. I was at home, happy for the last day of another year. I had to go to work but knew that come what may, I was gonna have to be in my church for the tarry night. I was able to achieve this feat and ushered in the new year 2013 with my loved ones.

It was a glorious year, a blessed year, however with its ups and downs. Methodically walking through the year again, there are a few things I need to comment about.

My work life was challenging, what with being a new joiner and having to write an exam to stay in the firm. Guess what? I wrote and passed the exam in flying colors. I never knew I was regarded as the No 2 in my group at work; my not knowing may have been part of the reasons why I was able to deliver to the best of my ability.

I met a couple of wonderful friends during this year, Taiwo, Tunde, Tobi, Cynthia, Priere, Michael, the list goes on and on. You guys were wonderful. If I had to relive 2013, I wouldn’t want to live it without you. Taiwo, you were a very good friend, like I said earlier, am glad I met you. Though you are leaving us, you shall forever remain my friend. Not forgetting Abisola Popoola (nee Jones), you were my mentor, friend and role model. Go get em in Florida.

I made some mistakes within the year that am so sorry for. I neglected my friends. No calls. No texts. No visits. No mention on twitter. No message on facebook. I am sorry. I have no justification as to the reason why I behaved in that manner. PLEASE FORGIVE ME and pray along with me that 2014 will be better.

I had dreams and aspirations at the beginning of the year, well; I can positively say that I fared well. He led me. Those targets I was unable to meet, well, it means my 2014 aspirations will be more bulky (so help me God!).

2014 is almost here! Just a few hours left! Hmm. Again, I have dreams. I have hopes. I have aspirations.

I know it will be a fruitful and wonderful year. A year filled with examination success, promotions at work, job appointments, scholarships, new births.

Yes, life is not a bed of roses. Am sure it will be a year full of ups and downs. But it will be worth it. We shall succeed.

Therefore, go ahead! Dream on! Aspire! Believe! Make plans! Pray steadfastly! Believe in God! Don’t neglect your family and friends! And 2014 will be a fruitful year.

To cap it all

I Fall, I Rise! I Make Mistakes!
I Live, I Learn! I’ve Been Hurt But Am Alive!

I’m Human, I’m Not Perfect!

But Am Thankful!
