Day 29- My 2013 was almost about NYSC.....Iyke

finally, it is about 2 days and we will conclude this epic programme #31Days31Reflections, stay tuned for another mind blowing project #31Days31Epistles billed to be aired by March, 2014, if you are interested please indicate by sending us a mail or commenting on his post...thanks

I read a research some time ago that each human have about six(6) persons that have same qualities, character and wholistic expressions, initially I didn't believe, but when I met this wonderful personality, I nodded my head in agreement of that research. It all started around May 2013, while I was whole heartedly discharging my duties as the Media and Publicity coordinator for Nigerian Christian Corppers Fellowship(NCCF) in Efon-alaaye Local government Zone of Ekiti state, a tall handsome young man walked up to me and indicated interest in joining the team, as God will have it he loved God's work and I humbly handed over the office to him at the expiration of my active term. As if that was not enough, this same young man took over from me as the president of the NYSC/EFCC integrity club, the only thing he didn't take over was my certificate, lols, and I'm sure my wife too, *winks*...

Iyke is a cool young man, not sure If he is single, but he has a superb personality and I most say wholistically, he is just unique...
Sending his reflections all the way from Ekiti state is the 29th reflector of our project #31Days31Reflections, Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, Oguaka C. Iyke, enjoy his reflections below....

MY REFLECTIONS- Oguaka Chukwuma Iyke

Trying to have a flash back of all that transpired between me and year 2013, well, I really do not know how best to start it, because year 2013 was almost all about NYSC. It started with my convocation in January at the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka. There, at the convocation hall with my friends, classmates and other graduating students, we smiled with freedom and mission accomplishment written all over our faces. We proceeded to the party ground, danced like never before, took pictures with both family and friends, it was fun filled, really.

February was all about NYSC preparation, I went back to school for the call-up letter, that day wasn’t so funny at all because it was far from my expectations what was written in the letter, but I didn’t complain much.

The month of March was really a big one, for it was the NYSC orientation course (Camp), the orientation generally was fabulous, I had my birthday celebration there too, with new friends, I couldn’t ask for more than that, you know. Later got posted to my service local government (PPA), where it all began. April came with all of the NYSC challenges and as a new corps member, I had to calm down and let it flow. My PPA wasn’t the one some people would want to have their service year experience because I did nothing, unbelievable but it’s true; a school though, hardly had students because of its designation (a remedial school), it was helpful in a way though.

May was really awesome, that was when I met this young and vibrant guy, Mr. Nwachukwu P.C.O (Nellydozzy...aka TatafoEfon), he really inspired me to take responsibility in both NCCF and the NYSC course entirely, thanks for being a great part of my 2013, I pray God to perfect all that concerns you this year 2014, in Jesus name. June and July was up running with the usual dealings.

Coming down to August, when I was strongly poised to start looking at the purpose I was posted to the state for service. In September, I was faced with the challenges of becoming a leader of not only a small Community Development group but also a coordinator of all the Corpers’ in the Local Government. Leadership became more illuminating and I decided to see everything to the end.

In October, I realized that all I have ever wanted to become starts with all these, I handled so many task, challenges did came, different kind of people I met, with different life perspectives in the course of this, but I am most grateful to God who saw me through them all.

December wasn’t so sweet at the beginning when I had to choose between applying my experience to solving life and personal issues and letting certain things remain the way they are and/or allowing others find solutions themselves. But in the end it was all better, thanks to God almighty.

2013 was really an eye opener for me, a teacher indeed, life instructor and a year I actually renewed my covenant and relationship with my creator. I also look forward to a greater 2014 (The Restoration Year).

I can’t wait for February, my NYSC pass out month. Really grateful to the almighty God for all these, my family and friends and I know he is set to do the best ever…..
