Adebimpe the Facebook girl..Part 2

Just while I was wondering about my recent act of stupidity, my memory started flashing back to how I and Bimpe started………. After sending her a friend request on Facebook which she accepted. We had chat about academics, then life in general. As time went on, we were so fond of each other that we confided in each other. She told me about her relationship that just ended with Mike due to emotional and physical abuse. She also told me how mike didn’t love her, how he violently demands for sex, how he always demanded for anal sex which she always rejected not until one day when mike drugged her drink, in her  unconscious state mike had his way through her anus, Oh she felt pains for days and had to end the relationship.

Article- Nigeria;54 years of what?

The truth is if every Nigerian is given a platform to express themselves on the growth of the country, most especially as it turned 54years, we shall get several views, but in all these views, something can be seen holding each Nigerian back and pushing us further, and that unique factor is HOPE. The article below is culled from Vanguard News and written by Awa kalu(SAN)See the entire article after the cut, mind you it is very long, historic and mind blowing, the writer did a fantastic job, I love the message behind this article...

GBAM- Reps probe N4,000 NYSC call up fee

According to Vanguard News, there is some serious probing into the N4000  NYSC call up fee, here is the full news below...

THE House of Representatives, yesterday, began a probe into the alleged N4,000 to be collected by the management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, as registration fee from corps members.
Also, the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Centre, NFIC, Bill scaled through third reading in the House.
The House, based on the allegation, urged NYSC to suspend forthwith the policy requiring prospective NYSC members to pay the amount with effect from 2015 before accessing their call-up letters.
Hassan Saleh (PDP, Benue), who sponsored the motion, expressed concern over “recent advertorials in some national newspapers that with effect from 2015, corps members will be required to register online with a fee of N4,000 to be able to access their call-up letters as an alternative to going to their various schools to collect the letters.”

The Camp Experience- Survival skills

"The Survival of the fittest" theory has been a redundant aspect of life, it is present in every life form present on our planet, from the unicellular organisms to the complex ones, and it’s usually the fittest that survives.

Please permit me to share a brief story on how I scaled through gallantly during my NYSC camping days. To those that have not read my three publications stressing on my NYSC experience, please do to understand this piece better. One thing I did before leaving for the NYSC permanent Camp site at Ise-Emure, Ekiti state, was to take a full dose of Malaria drug to aid my immune system in the combat of Malaria disease, caused by the Plasmodium parasite present in mosquitoes and transmitted while sucking a Host's blood; hence, I was fit health-wise. I also trained myself personally by doing at least 40 push-ups every day just to help in my fitness and of course taking enough water.

Sometimes you don't need to follow the crowd. You must not participate in all the programs but choose with wisdom which programs you wish to participate in, it could be in Media and Publicity, Parade, Sports, drama, or dance. Usually, it is believed that those who are very active in camp or those ones that are engaged in "eye service" tend to be favoured during posting, but this is not always true. I still recall a friend who was not active at all in camp, yet he ended up in the state capital, Ado-Ekiti, while some of us that were so active were posted to villages attached to a Local government within the state.

Preparations- All about NYSC camp

By now most of the 2014 batch B NYSC corps members are waiting for their call-up letters to reach their impatient hands. Hmm, because the fear of some boko-haramic states most graduates have prayed and fasted, insisting that they must be posted to areas where there are no bomb scares, but my people, Naija, na Naija jawe, anywhere dem post you, just go in faith, lols.

The essence of this post is to help some of us prepare for our camps before Monday next week, so carefully read this post, and thank me later by doing a word of prayer for peace to be stagnant in the nation.

Photo- The Fear of Ebola...

the fear of Ebola...
Found this hilarious picture on line of a dear friend shielding himself from a contact with another friend, just because of the virus, Ebola. It is no news that the deadly virus is in Nigeria, Lagos to be precise, it is also no news that this virus is way dangerous than HIV, and it’s also no news that all the persons that ever had contact with the virus has either died, dying or will die. Despite all this, my advice to you is to be very careful, touch less of what you aren’t sure of and stay clear from very rowdy or crowded places, wash your hands more frequently and become a vegetarian.

Stay safe friends

Great News....... ASUP calls off strike.

Wow, 10 months?, some will exclaim, but yeah, your saw and read right, its 10 months of staying at home doing different useful or useless things for our polytechnic friends, but its all over now.

This piece of good news was made public this morning by the National Publicity Secretary of the Union, Clement Chairman who added that all schools are expected to reopen by Tuesday next week for academic activities. It is no news that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has been on strike for 10 months now over issues relating to the needful development of Nigerian polytechnics.

The Painful exit of a youth because of LOVE...

Found this rather touching news on vanguardng, and thought it wise to share it with you on the blog, most especially to the youths. I see no reason why one should kill his/her self because they were jilted by the supposed lovers, that is the height of stupidity and lack of common sense, because at the end, it is your immediate family and friends that will be mostly affected, find the full story below....

FRIENDS and family members of a 21-year-old student of Maritime Academy Oron, Effiong Otu are at a loss why he committed suicide by hanging himself on a rope in his room on Thursday morning after he was jilted by his girl friend.

Story- Ikemba and the Cripple.....Chapter 2

The sounds of several creatures in the great Ikuku forest kept the warriors and Ojinta alert, after a while roaming round the forest, Ojinta discovered that they were lost; he quickly suggested they went to the priest for guidance and protection. On reaching the shrine of the great priest of the Ikuku forest, the men greeted the wise one with humility. After a welcomed response from the priest, the priest said, “A bush meat does not run aimlessly in the forest, its either it is pursuing something or something is pursuing it, what bring you all to my shrine this cool evening. Ojinta bravely replied, “The great one, we are on a quest to rescue our princess from the warriors of Ikanga, we need your wise counsel, directions and protection as we embark on this quest”.
